Jukebox the Ghost is a power pop trio in the piano/guitar/drums tradition who have been making music for a decade and touring relentlessly in support of their passion. The DC-area band has four albums to their credit and is one of the primary players for Yep Roc Records (since 2010).
2008 marked the band’s first album, Let Live and Let Ghosts. Since that time, the group has released an album every two years: Everything Under the Sun, 2010; Safe Travels, 2012; and the self-titled album in 2014. And now a super-successful Kickstarter program has help to fund the band’s first live album, which should be released in… 2016!
All three members of Jukebox the Ghost contribute to the band’s excellent harmonies. Their “whip-smart, searingly honest lyrics” toned down a bit for the eponymous release, perhaps a bit less serious in tone. The incredibly tight pop arrangements might remind one of Ben Folds and that genre. Their bubbly pop stylings can still deliver messages of all sorts.
Ben Thornewill plays piano, and the music centers itself around his playing. Tommy Siegel’s guitar adds color and verve, and Jesse Kristin anchors the proceedings on drums. They kicked off their most recent tour January 19th, which included being gifted tickets to visit Universal Studios in Orlando — which they described: “AND THUS TODAY WAS THE BEST DAY OF TOUR EVER!!!”

Goodnight Neverland
Tonight (Monday, February 1st) finds them in Tampa for an early show at The Crowbar in Tampa. Goodnight Neverland is also on the bill. They play “indie post rock” and feature Kerry Courtney, Jordan Tellone, and Jeremy Tellone. Opening the show are excellent rockers Row Jomah (Joe Roma, Melbourne Walsh, Austin Llewellyn, Jason Berlin and Dylan Chee-A-Tow) who released a great album last year titled Cat People. Music starts EARLY at 7 PM. This show is brought to you by Aestheticized Presents.

From Tampa, the tour heads to Texas, then works its way up the West Coast, back toward the Midwest and eventually back to the East Coast. This cross-country criss-cross features 38 dates.
