Consider the Source: your face-melting and mind-bending one-stop

Consider the Source just launched their fall tour September 10th. This weekend, they hit Mantrabash on Friday (Sept. 25), Savannah’s Barrelhouse South Saturday, and the Dunedin Brewery (FL) Sunday. After shows at the Funky Nugget in Boca Raton Tuesday and 1904 in Jacksonville Wednesday, they head back up the east coast, then out to the Midwest and Colorado during October, returning to the Northeast for a number of dates in November and December.

Why, you might ask, is this important? Good question for those who have not seen or heard this band yet. Here is an excerpt from the MusicFestNews review of the AURA Music and Arts Festival at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park last March:

“If you need an example of how to go from 0 to 90 in five seconds, listen to Consider the Source. This superb trio is not for easy listening. It was refreshing to see so many people crowding the amphitheater to hear their blend of fusion, searing psychedelia, middle-Eastern intonations and metal jazz — for the afternoon’s opening set! Gabriel Marin gets amazing effects from his unique double-neck guitar, making it sound like a trumpet, a saxophone, a synthesizer — and a guitar.”

“It is impossible to overstate the incredible power of the rhythm section of John Ferrara and Jeff Mann. The band got great response when the song ‘Keep Your Pimp Hand Strong’ was announced and more when it was played. This is a power trio on steroids.”

THAT’S why!

Consider the Source just released their seventh album, World War Trio (Parts 2 & 3) in June, the follow-up to World War Trio (Part 1), which came out last Hallowe’en. Their tour has them hitting the Luna Light Music and Arts Festival, Creatures of the Night Music and Arts Festival, and the Rise Up Festival along with club dates. They share the bill on several shows with TAUK and several others with Kung Fu. Also of note, Lava playing with CTS in Jacksonville!

Do yourself a favor: let Consider the Source twist your brain into a pretzel. You’ll thank me later, I promise!
