The String Cheese Incident has already had a busy summer, and the band is just getting warmed up. SCI followed three sell-out nights at Red Rocks with a performance at Gathering of the Vibes that included two titans, David Grisman and Peter Rowan and Friends. Recognize that Grisman and Rowan performed together in the late ‘60s in the way-before-their-time band Earth Opera in addition to their other massive contributions over the past 50 years!
Next up are three sets at the Lockn’ Music Festival on September 10 & 11. The band plays one set each day, and on Thursday they also collaborate with the Doobie Brothers for… The Doobie Incident!
That is followed by ten dates in October, bookended by a pair of show in Minneapolis (October 14 & 15) and a pair of shows at the Theater at Madison Square Garden (October 23 & 24).
Then comes Hulaween, the massive festival at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park October 30 through November 1 (with a pre-party on the 29th). SCI will play two sets on the 30th and 1st. The SCI performances have as their centerpiece a “theatrical surprise cover-filled” three-set Hallowe’en night show!
And the New Year’s Eve run is set for 1STBANK Center in Broomfield CO on December 31 and January 1 & 2.
No need to ‘whine;’ plenty of Cheese to go around!
