Still a little time to Spread the Word, boys and girls. It begins tonight!!!
Sometimes festival organizers overhype their events (shocking, we know), but when the 5th annual Spread the Word Colorado Music Festival claims that you should “get ready for the most epic downtown music festival Denver has seen,” you’d better take heed.
They ain’t foolin’.
100 sets over four days (May 5-8) should be enough to blow everybody’s minds. Friday’s 26 sets will take over Mercury Cafe, Tony P’s and Pearl’s, with Jon Wayne & the Pain and Jaden Carlson Band at the top of the card. Saturday is simply ridiculous, with Mile High Spirits, Cervantes Other Side, Mercury Cafe and Beryl’s Beer Co. hosting 44 sets of music, highlighted by The Kyle Hollingsworth Band, Whitewater Ramble’s Dead tribute, and Genetics.
Sunday’s music is all at Mile High Spirits (inside and out), with 15 sets featuring Eufórquestra, A-Mac & the Height, and Analog Son. Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom plays host Monday for the last 15 sets, with Joey Porter’s Vital Organ (featuring members of The Motet) at the top of the list. Collidoscope, Notorious Concept, and Doran Joseph Theoretically are also on the bill.
YOU need to build up your stamina. NOW!
