Funk to the Power of Funk: Fareed & His Funk Bros. at Maple Leaf Bar!

How can this even be real? This is so beyond amazing! Need to figure out how to teleport to New Orleans for that weekend. Seriously.

Fareed and His Funk Bros.! This band is so special, so titanic, that superlatives want to spill out all over the screen. Fareed is Fareed Haque, former guitar wizard with Garage Mahal and leader of Math Games and Haque’s Flat Earth Ensemble. Roosevelt Collier is one of the finest pedal and lap steel players anywhere, a member of The Lee Boys and guest with virtually every band on the scene. Stanton Moore is one of the kings of NOLA drumming (Galactic, Garage A Trois, and the Stanton Moore Trio) and, by extension, obviously, the planet. And keyboard monster Tony Monaco rounds out the quartet.

The band plays two nights at The Maple Leaf, Friday, January 6th, and Saturday, the 7th.

Did we say quartet? On Saturday, how about adding Victor Wooten and Jeff Coffin to the mix? See if you can imagine a band more badass than that.

Take all the time you need.

How much are plane tickets to New Orleans? Hello? Southwest?

Or how about a tour?
