The Heavy Pets are on the road! They opened this fall tour last Saturday at Bear Creek Bayou in New Orleans, where they threw down a great set with the Mississippi River directly behind them.
Tonight (Friday, October 7), they play the Isis Music Hall in Asheville, and Saturday they headline the CukoRakko Music and Arts Festival in Steele AL. From there, the tour takes them through Alabama, Georgia and Florida. The November leg of the tour finds the quintet in Pennsylvania, New York, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut.
Along the way, the Pets will reprise Walrus, their Beatles tribute, at the Blueberry Jam in Fairhope AL on October 15, and they will play Suwannee Hulaween on October 27.
The Heavy Pets are: Jeff Lloyd, guitar/vocals; Mike Garulli, guitar/harmonica/vocals; Jim Wuest, keys/vocals; Jamie Newitt, drums/vocals; and Tony D’Amato, bass. The South Florida quintet claims to play rock and roll, that barely begins to scratch the surface of their breadth and depth. They can do anything, and they do!
