So, you still haven’t made up your mind about Floyd Fest, have you? Let’s make a checklist, OK?
Aerial trapeze shows? Check. Art Workshops? Check. Crossfit? Check. Disc golf? Check. Drum circles? Check. Family fun? Fire performances? Check. Check. Geocache? Healing arts? Hiking? Check. Check. Check. Hooping? Check. Meditation? Mountain biking? Check. Check. Nature programs? Open mic? Panel discussions? Check. Check. Check. Workshops? Check. Yoga? Check.
What did we leave out? Oh, right. Music. There is a bit of that, too. A LOT of that, actually. More than 50 bands and performers will grace the music stages over the five-day festival (July 22-26) in the beautiful Appalachian Mountains of Virginia. The theme for Floyd Fest 14 (that’s number 14, in ’15) this year is Fire On the Mountain.
How’s this for fire? Grace Potter, Brandi Carlile, Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell, the Drive-By Truckers, Leftover Salmon, Trampled by Turtles, Chris Robinson Brotherhood, Keller Williams, Sam Bush Band, Trigger Hippy, The Devil Makes Three, Jerry Douglas and Peter Rowan.
The website has detailed schedules for each day. You’d better get started planning now so you can fit as much music and as many activities into each day as you can.
