Future Vintage | Capitol Beer House 11.08.13

“I love it when a plan comes together!” (Full disclosure: I NEVER watched that show!)On Thursday, I received a notice that Future Vintage, subject of a recent rave, would be playing the next night at the Capitol Beer House in Clearwater, across the street from the beautifully revamped Capitol Theatre. A less-than-adequate description of FV would be Herbie Hancock meets jamtronica. The planets managed to align on short notice; this was my second FV show and Linda’s first. We were not disappointed. They actually started early! and jammed all the way through tunes from their recently released CD and other songs as well. The sound was great and the playing superb!

A quick aside to mention how nice the Capitol Beer House was – clean, open, good sound, great beer, great service. We will be back. Wednesday, November 20th, to be exact. Future Vintage at 8 (or earlier!?!), and then Serotonic! Now there is a match made in heaven – well, MY heaven, anyway.

Future Vintage is Matt Giancola on all manner of keyboards, Trevor McDannel on bass, and Dean Rocco on the traps and the electronic drum pad (I guess that is what it’s called). It was a great night; we were not able to stay to hear the Galbraith Brothers. Future Vintage will be opening again for them at Skipper’s Smokehouse in Tampa on Tuesday, December 10th, with a 7 PM start time. Be there. Aloha.

AND Future Vintage is slated for the Downtown River Jam on December 7th, which might be in Tampa, OR it might be in Ybor City; information at this point is apochryphal.

I’m goin’ anyway!
